Personal Introduction

Alexis grew up immersed in the world of law. From the time she was a kindergartner she often accompanied her attorney mother to court, where she would sit in the jury box and write on her mother's yellow legal pads. She became very familiar with courtroom protocol, understanding the importance of being prepared and cultivating good relationships, by being a person that people trusted. She also learned to be comfortable and at ease in a situation that is highly stressful to most people...sitting in a courtroom where a judge issues commands and everyone scurries to obey. From those times, Alexis learned to see judges as people, not scary strangers, but people just trying to do their job. She learned that the best way to win was to make it easy for the judge to do his or her job, and decide in your favor. After graduating from Wayne State University Law School and passing the bar, Alexis was offered a job by the firm she had clerked for as a law student. Her negotiation skills and ability to think on her feet in the courtroom earned her the name "The Hammer" at her firm, for going the extra mile to get even better results than her clients had hoped for. She developed a reputation in her field, and soon was recruited by a large firm, where she handled a variety of matters in the business litigation group. But Alexis wanted to cut her own path. Anyone who knows Alexis knows that she has always been passionate about small business, having owned several small businesses herself prior to attending law school. Alexis has created a firm where business and real estate professionals can access the experience and skill that a big firm provides, with the personalized attention only a small firm can give.
