Personal Introduction
I obtained my undergraduate degree from Alma College and obtained my J. D. from Syracuse University, College of Law. I also hold an M.S. from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. I joined the firm in 2005 and became managing partner in 2010. I'm admitted to practice in the Michigan courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. My practice focuses on commercial litigation, including property insurance law and cases of suspected arson and fraud, appraisal, and extra-contractual claims, as well as no fault coverages and third party defense. I have written and lectured on numerous topics in the areas of claims procedures and litigation practices, including issues relating to claims investigations, mortgagees and appraisals. My trial practice includes all Michigan courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. I'm active in the legal community and works with various elementary and middle schools to help generate interest in the legal profession at a young age.
