Personal Introduction

Bennett Root integrates over thirty years of experience as an entrepreneur, an angel investor, an attorney and a business development advisor, having worked with a broad range of businesses from development-stage start-ups to some of the world’s largest, privately owned enterprises. Root has assisted companies with their business design and structure, development of product portfolios, creation of marketing and sales programs, development and protection of intellectual property, licensing properties and raising of equity and debt financing. Currently, Root is involved in crowdfunding capital raises using regulations authorized by the JOBS Act. After fifteen plus years as a senior partner at Latham & Watkins, Root has worked as a C-level executive and Board member for various companies and serves as the principal of the Bennett Root Group, llc of Pasadena, California. Root holds a BA in Economics from University of Michigan, a JD from Harvard University, both with honors, and has completed post-graduate programs at Pepperdine and Oxford Universities. Root is a member of the Board of Visitors of Michigan’s Humanities Institute and a magician member of the Magic Castle.
