My work centers on family law and criminal defense, with additional experience in adoption, guardianship, conservatorship, and name changes — matters where clients need an experienced, accessible advocate who can move quickly and explain the process plainly. I'm a graduate of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law (2002) and a former Deputy District Attorney in Colorado. Before law school, I worked as a government investigator, personally handling more than 700 investigations across criminal and civil matters. That dual lens — prosecution and investigation — informs how I evaluate evidence, anticipate the other side's strategy, and counsel clients on realistic outcomes in both criminal cases and contested family disputes. I also serve as a mediator in domestic relations cases and am a Child and Family Investigator (CFI), credentials that matter in custody, parenting-time, and divorce disputes where reaching a workable resolution is often better than fighting one out. My prior work as a Colorado real estate broker is an added asset when marital estates involve real property or business interests. Across all of it — backed by Yazmin's day-to-day case management — I keep client communication direct, fees transparent, and the engagement structured around the client's goals, not a platform's pricing sheet.
