Personal Introduction

For the last two decades, I have divided my time between representing the indigent as court appointed counsel, as a disability attorney representing people with mental health issues, as an attorney representing clients in involuntary commitment hearings, and have done divorces, wills, traffic tickets, and a random assortment of issues. Both the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia added me to their court appointed list. For most of my career, I have run my own practice which included representing potentially disabled attorneys before the Virginia State Bar. I served as an Assist ant Commonwealth's Attorney for a couple of years as well, rounding out my criminal law experience. I also serve as a Special Justice for the County of Henrico, hearing matters involving a person's mental health needs. My practice allows me to prepare for both civil and criminal litigation as well as administrative hearings. I have prosecuted and defended; addressed citizens’ mental health concerns and worked to find reasonable outcomes from both sides.
