Curt is one of the founders of Overture and is a founding partner of L&F Brown. Curt maintains an active personal injury practice, representing clients who have suffered life-altering injuries with the same personalized attention and strategic precision. He also has a successful employment practice where he helps employees that have been wrongly terminated, discriminated against, or haven't received adequate accommodations for disabilities. In addition to his client work, Curt is a nationally recognized authority on legal ethics and the business of law. He is especially known for his expertise in the ethics of attorney fee-splitting and the impact of legal technology on modern law practice. He also advises law firms and startups on compliance, growth strategy, and innovation. Curt began his legal career at Irell & Manella LLP in Los Angeles, where he worked on complex civil litigation matters including securities class actions, antitrust, and IP disputes. He earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he was a Michael T. Masin Scholar and Staff Editor of the Entertainment Law Review. He is admitted to practice in California, New York, Texas, Florida, D.C., Washington, Illinois, Colorado, Oregon, and Michigan. Curt has been recognized multiple times as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and named California Lawyer of the Year (CLAY Award) by The Daily Journal. He was also honored as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by USC Law School’s Public Interest Law Fund. Curt teaches legal ethics and law firm management as an adjunct professor at DePaul College of Law in Chicago.
