I am a creative, military combat veteran, and business owner who went to law school to become a business attorney. I am a firm believer that multiple income streams provides financial security as well as a better way of life. Nearly everyone I've ever met has told me they wished they had, "written that book", "become a speaker", "been in a band", "started that [business]", "bought some rental properties", "got into investing" or some other income producing venture that was not their main source of employment (including me!) I am here to help my clients make those wishes a reality by developing and maintaining their portfolio career.

Barker Law Firm is a virtual boutique business law firm helping professionals establish, grow, and maintain their portfolio career, with a focus on the creative professional. I help my clients discover what streams of income will best suit their personal and professional lifestyle, how to choose appropriate systems that support their portfolio career, and implement the legal requirements to their reduce risk and make more money. Providing advice under Rule 2.1 is where I hang my hat. Technical aspects of my practice include advising on multiple income streams, developing business plans, forming and maintaining business structures; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements. I also accept limited representation engagements and work with other firms, especially litigation firms, in a limited capacity to assist co-counsel with difficult creative clients.

I am a teacher of fine handwriting and enjoy commissions for writing letters and notes in the form and style of President Abraham Lincoln. I am a US Army veteran and veteran's advocate. I am also a member of the United States Association of Reptile Keepers (USARK) and am an advocate for the private keeping and breeding of exotic reptiles.
