Personal Introduction

Deborah is the managing attorney at Newsom Law in Atlanta, Georgia. An expert in social security disability and administrative law, she also focuses her practice on estate planning with a special emphasis on special needs trust and probate matters. Deborah served the United States Social Security Administration for 16 years, with her final position being Atlanta Regional Attorney for the agency. Over her career, she has worked for and co-counseled with the nation’s most prominent social security law firms. Deborah possesses over ten years of management experience and proficiency as a professional national trainer and legal writer. She owned and operated two property management investments companies and numerous residential and multi-family properties. She is a writer, international consultant, and project manager. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Deborah received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications/ Public Relations. She received her Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law. Deborah achieved academic excellence during her tenure at Howard as the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Professional Responsibility and the highest-ranked participant in the “DC Law Students in Court Clinic,” a legal consortium representing indigent clients in the small claim and landlord-tenant matters. When Deborah is not practicing law, she enjoys traveling, working out, reading, meditation, and spending time with family and friends.
