Personal Introduction

Originally from Bulgaria, Dessi Mathew had personal experience with obtaining a student visa, work visa, and later permanent residency. As an immigrant, she can relate to the concerns and frustrations of foreigners seeking new opportunities. Prior to moving to Texas, Dessi Mathew lived in New York City where she had the opportunity to work with distinguished fashion photographers, graphic designers, makeup artists, fashion stylists and other individuals in the fashion and arts communities seeking employment visas or permanent residency. Since moving to Texas she has assisted professionals, investors and business owners in navigating the complex federal system in order to obtain employment authorization or permanent residency. Ms. Mathew has a strong expertise in O-1 visas, EB-1 petitions, and National Interest Waivers. Dessi Mathew is a graduate of Elisabeth Taub School of Law (formerly Pace University School of Law) in New York. She received her J.D. in 2010. Previously Ms. Mathew attained a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Lehigh University in 2001. She received her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Lyon College in 1999. In law school Ms. Mathew served as a Senior Associate of Pace International Law Review, and in the Spring of 2009 she was selected to be a Judicial Intern in the chambers of Hon. Judge Marilyn D. Go of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Ms. Mathew is a member of New York City Bar Association, Houston Association of Women Attorneys and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
