Personal Introduction

Eric Schab began his professional career while still a student at the Florida State University College of Law. During his final semester, he completed an externship with the Office of the Public Defender for the Second Judicial Circuit. In that role, Eric zealously advocated for the rights of the accused in misdemeanor cases, chairing five contested trials in the Spring of 2013. In September 2013, Eric became a licensed member of the Florida Bar. By that time, he was already hard at work as a Graduate Fellow for the Public Interest Law Center in Tallahassee providing representation to children in a variety of contexts, including criminal, delinquency, dependency, and administrative proceedings. Eric specialized in representing children who had been tried as adults and had received criminal sentences that were later found to be unconstitutional. In addition to providing legal representation, Eric conducted scholarly research on the topic of juvenile resentencing. Hi article "Departing from Teague: Miller v. Alabama's Invitation to the States Experiment with New Retroactivity Standards" was published by the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law in the Fall of 2014. In April of 2015, Eric shifted gears and began representing the State of Florida Department of Children and Families in dependency proceedings, prosecuting cases of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Eric gained valuable litigation experience in this role, winning fifteen contested trials and countless other motion hearings. In April 2019, Eric joined Max Factor Law as an associate attorney. Along with his litigation skills, Eric brings a personal and detailed approach to each client's case.
