Personal Introduction

Originally from Holland, Michigan, I have practiced law for almost a decade, both in Michigan and in the greater Washington, DC area. I have always been intrigued by how the law works and how it affects so many aspects of our lives—that’s what inspired me to enroll in law school in 2012. There’s a common misconception that lawyers just fill out paperwork and show up to court hearings, perhaps discussing the finer points of constitutional law with their colleagues in a wood-paneled office. While I enjoy discussing constitutional law as much as the next lawyer, my job as an attorney is to guide you through the legal system and give you personalized advice every step of the way. More than just filling out paperwork, I meet with you, discuss your goals, and help craft the right solution. There’s a reason lawyers are sometimes referred to as “counselor.” It’s because our duty is to counsel you about your legal problems, your goals, and even your future.
