Personal Introduction

Ijeoma Ononogbu is an international dispute resolution solicitor trained in dual common law jurisdictions, Nigeria and England & Wales. As well as, an arbitrator( FCIArb). She assists, advises and represents major UK, EU, US, and African multinationals on a wide range of commercial disputes, in both international arbitration and litigation proceedings. She has assisted and represented clients in complex litigation cases in courts of England & Wales. She has been involved in arbitration proceedings conducted before tribunals constituted under the rules of major international arbitration institution. She has experience in a wide range of industry sectors which includes construction, financial, energy, and telecommunication. Ijeoma accepts appointments to sit as an arbitrator internationally. Her representation covers all aspects of the arbitral process, including, the negotiation of arbitration clauses in non-contentious settings, the conduct of arbitral proceedings, and advocacy at trial. She is also experienced with handling court litigation supplementary to the arbitral process, including proceedings relating to the enforcement of arbitral awards before the relevant body. Her responsibilities are extensive and include the preparation of court motions and arbitration briefs to leading cross-examination of witnesses in arbitration hearings. Ijeoma also assists clients in the field of technology and Internet policy. Her current focus is on online dispute resolution and information technology outsourcing. As a lawyer, she leverages skills in advising and assisting domestic and international companies, in investments and in connection with their disputes on issues of negotiation, and collaboration in international dispute resolution.
