Personal Introduction
At Boston Dog Lawyers we represent pet owners and pet businesses for a growing list of legal issues. Our practice area is so unique it does not really exist in most states, but it should and it will. Our phone rings with calls from across the country and we are wanting to be a resource for pet owners on a larger scale. It is through a platform like Overture that we hope to partner up on cases, teach the concept to other attorneys and increase our role in this country. We defend claims for damages from an alleged dog bite whether there is insurance or not. We handle pet custody cases, having just secured and Appellate Court decision in MA that emphasizes the special nature and value of our pets, see Lyman v. Lanser 103 Mass. App. Ct. 787 (2024). Pet businesses retain us from start-up to reorganization and to protect against all the things that can go awry. Our lawyers also defend dangerous dogs by making sure the hearing authorities get to the right decision the right way while preserving the due process rights of a pet owner. Many calls to our office include claims of wrongful pet injury or death. Boston Dog Lawyers are not animal rights lawyers, we are advocates for pet owners' rights. We have our 20,000 hours of experience after receiving 5,000 calls in 8 years. Join us in accepting this referral and the least you will come away with is an interesting story to tell. The only prerequisite is that you own a pet. Prior to working in pet law, I worked in the insurance industry managing global claims for General Electric. Now my career focuses on pet related litigation and speaking engagements to promote our concept. The media enjoys the content of many of our cases, having made Boston Dog Lawyers and our clients the subject of numerous magazine, newspaper, radio and television stories. I always have my Golden retriever Maisey by my side since Maisey loves the camera! Why is “Boston” in our name? We see Boston as the original center of our country’s revolutionary attitude. Just as Bostonians of 250 years ago brought about a change to conditions they did not agree with, so do we, by dusting off centuries’ old caselaw and inserting pets into the mix. We certainly did not start it but now we and our courageous clients are part of the revolution to improve the legal status of our pets. Plus, regardless of the odds, Bostonians don’t hesitate to engage in battle when they think they are right.

What is Overture?
Overture is an attorney-to-attorney referral network. Vetted attorneys refer matters they can’t take on to trusted colleagues and earn fee splits when they do, expanding what every attorney can offer their clients.
