Personal Introduction

John started out his legal career in Montana working for his late father and in 1994 he was elected a county attorney in an eastern Montana county and re-elected in 1998. During this time, John also engaged in the private practice of law and did estate planning, handled issues related to agricultural law, handled real estate transactions and even established a real estate title services company. Eventually, John found his way to New Mexico where he initially worked as a prosecutor handling a wide-variety of criminal cases, including homicide and high profile cases. In one his last criminal cases, he was responsible for prosecuting what has been described as the largest prison riot in New Mexico in the last 20 years. John continues to practice criminal law and has a contract from the Law Office of the Public Defender to handle homicide cases across the state. In 2007, John left New Mexico and went to work in Singapore where he engaged in estate planning for American expats and handled trusts for ultrawealthy clients from all over the world. While in Singapore, the Singaporean government granted John a relatively rare license to act as a trust manager. In 2017, John returned to New Mexico basically picking where he left off and eventually became involved in bankruptcy work, debtor and consumer rights,
