Personal Introduction

All I do is franchise law! Whether your referral is a startup franchise, an existing franchisor, or someone interested in buying a franchise, I'm happy to assist them in this niche practice area. I represent franchisors in every industry from startups to systems older than me.

Practice Summary

If it involves a franchise disclosure document ("FDD"), we do it! -Drafting franchise disclosure documents -Annual updates to franchise disclosure documents -Registering franchisors in various states and obtaining applicable exemptions -Managing franchisor-franchisee relationships (Notices of Default and Termination, Mutual Terminations, Transfers, Re-acquisitions, etc.) -Mergers and acquisitions of franchise systems (franchisors) -Reviewing franchise disclosure documents for prospective franchisees (so long as there's no conflict - i.e., we didn't draft the docs!)

Personal Interests & Charitable Work

My wife and I have five kids seven and under, and I basically practice law to fund annual trips to Disney World. I spend most of my time in my home office, which is adorned with guitars, lightsabers, and Legos. Clients enjoy my personality and business-focused approach to franchise law. I've occasionally been known as the "Slumlord Slayer" when taking pro bono tenant defense cases in Charlotte.
