Joseph Hoelscher
Criminal, Family Law (Litigation)
San Antonio, Texas
Personal Introduction
I'm a true believer who puts my clients' interests ahead of my own. Because I work at a high level in civil court, Children's Court, and criminal court, most of my cases are referred by colleagues who recognize that their clients need a lawyer who can handle the worst sort of accusations in concurrent litigation against multiple parties and state agencies simultaneously.

Education
Practice Summary
I went to law school after my father was falsely accused of my mother's murder. Thirty years after her disappearance, I assisted in locating my mom's remains using DNA analysis and we were able to lay her to rest. My goal is to bring peace to my clients better than the system did for my family. I seek out the most difficult cases and have built a reputation for winning "unwinnable" cases, many of which were challenged by extensive media coverage, including ongoing national media coverage. My cases focus on child abuse and neglect cases. I'm one of the very few lawyers in Texas who can litigate child abuse claims in civil court, Children's Court, and felony court simultaneously and synergistically. However, I also handle intoxication offenses and author the LexisNexis Practice Guide, Texas Drunk Driving Law, which is updated annually. My practice is not confined to traditional lawyering, but includes media strategy and asymmetric tactics, which have allowed me to successfully attack institutions and public officials, including forensic laboratories, law enforcement officials, elected clerks, judges, and District Attorneys directly and personally. Major Felonies, especially child abuse and neglect, sex crimes, aggravated assault & murder Intoxication Offenses: DWI, felony DWI, DWI with child passenger, intoxication assault, intoxication manslaughter Domestic Violence: including assault - family, assault - family violence - choking, violation of protective order, injury to a child Child Protective Services: parental defense, foster parent interventions, child care investigations, sibling interventions, grandparent interventions, CPS investigations, ARIFs, SOAH appeals High Conflict Family Law: typically involving accusations of child abuse or neglect or accusations of domestic violence, fraud and hidden assets
