Personal Introduction
I am a U.S.-trained attorney with more than twenty years of experience as a litigator. Over the course of my career, I have first-chaired dozens of jury trials and successfully represented clients in federal, state, and administrative courts across five countries and three continents My trial practice has spanned complex commercial disputes, corporate law matters, and cross-border business controversies, giving me a depth of courtroom experience that few practitioners can match. My litigation background is complemented by prior service as a Trial Attorney at JBP where I handled construction defect, partition and flipper fraud cases, Liberty Mutual Insurance, where I defended high-exposure cases, and as an Assistant District Attorney, Assistant United States Attorney and Criminal Defense Panel attorney, where I developed my skills in front of juries. I wrote a book about one of those cases in 2026: "Justicia en Juicio." I also served as a lawyer in the U.S. Army, prosecuting and defending courts-martials, and advising commanders on operational and international law. In addition to my litigation work, I have served as Senior Manager for Regional Compliance at one of the world’s largest money transfer companies and hold the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist credential. My expertise in national security law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance allows me to advise clients operating in highly complex, cross-border environments. Beyond practice, I co-founded two legal tech companies: LFTC and immigratingwithalawyer.ai, with the goal of enhancing efficiency and broadening access to justice. I am passionate about systems thinking and building technologies that empower lawyers and clients alike. Academically, I hold a J.D. from The Ohio State University and multiple advanced degrees, including three LL.Ms (International Public Law, Private International Law, and Human Rights Law), an M.A. in International Relations, and a B.A. in Latin American Studies. I have also completed executive programs at Wharton, WHU, Stanford, Trinity College Dublin, ESADE, Purdue, Cambridge University, Stetson University and Florida State University, and I completed all the coursework required to earn my EMBA at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, I bring a multicultural, multilingual approach to trial advocacy. My mission is to combine deep litigation experience with innovation and technology to restore dignity and create opportunity for clients in complex legal disputes.

Personal Interests & Charitable Work
Beyond the courtroom and the command center, my life is defined by a commitment to physical rigor and lifelong learning. I am an avid rugby player, a sport that mirrors my professional philosophy: it requires strategic foresight, relentless teamwork, and the resilience to push forward under intense pressure. Whether on the pitch or in the office, I value the discipline and camaraderie that come from competing at a high level. My passion for global affairs extends into my personal life through extensive travel and cultural immersion. Having lived and worked across three continents, I find immense fulfillment in exploring the intersections of history, politics, and language. As a fluent Spanish speaker and proficient in Portuguese, I am constantly engaging with diverse perspectives, which informs my "systems thinking" approach to problem-solving. I am also deeply invested in the future of technology. I spend much of my personal time exploring how generative AI and automation can be harnessed to broaden access to justice. When I’m not analyzing complex legal frameworks or training for a match, you’ll likely find me diving into a new book on international relations or refining my skills in the latest legal tech developments.
