Personal Introduction
Karla was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where she developed an intimate familiarity with the Hispanic culture. During her years in Law School, Karla worked as a Legal Assistant in a large business and tort law firm, learning processes from the ground up. Karla is currently pursuing a Masters in Environmental and Energy Law. This, along with her studies in Spain, Italy, England, and China, and working with exchange students, motivated her toward a career in Immigration and Environmental Law. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2010 from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and served as a Defense Attorney for the Puerto Rico Department of Justice for 7 years, representing the Government of Puerto Rico, its employees, and agents in State and Federal District Court, standing out for her analytical ability, the quality of her work, and her effectiveness. In 2020, Santiago Legal LLC was founded with the vision of helping people in need of legal assistance, including families and immigrants, by providing them with personalized and quality legal services.
