Personal Introduction
Kris is an LA-based corporate transaction attorney with a focus in tech, media and sports industries. Kris’ diverse book of business has created a flexibility to work environments, he has experience as in-house counsel as well as working in a traditional law firm. Along with Kris’ legal degree, Kris received his MBA in June 2023 from UCLA Anderson’s Fully Employed MBA program. Kris' MBA education complements the skills he has developed as an attorney and business advisor to allow him to provide well-rounded legal counsel to clients. Some highlights from his work experience: Corporate Dealmaker: Negotiated / Advised / Closed a multi-million dollar equity financing deal between Kris' client a media brand/personality and an investment firm. Kris assists corporate clients in fundraising, capital structure decisions, equity offerings and M&A transactions. A to Z legal counsel - As a production counsel for feature films, Kris has navigated the multiple phases of a project that require a wide array of legal services. Starting as negotiator between the financiers and the production company, working with the casting director and above-the-line talents’ representatives to finalize casting and ultimately finalize an acquisition deal with a major studio. Again, the gauntlet that is acting as production counsel for a feature film from initial investment to acquisition is challenging, but incredibly rewarding in the experience he has gained. Adaptive - As a boutique law firm partner, Kris needs to provide legal representation for his clients with much less resources than the big law firms that occupy the same space and this has led to Kris strengthening his ability to be adaptive and innovative in his approach. Cross-functional team collaboration - As outside general counsel for several corporate clients, Kris handles everything from entity formation/drafting of entity formation documents and coordinating with clients to develop and monitor each organization’s essential contract bank to ensure his clients are not exposed to unnecessary risks and liabilities. Kris frequently collaborates with clients’ Operations, Finance and Marketing departments to provide legal oversight in the overall corporate strategy as well as negotiate agreements with third-parties. Kris is constantly client-facing and comfortable working directly with clients to serve as a trusted advisor for their organizations while also being an effective communicator.
