Practice Summary
As a co-founder of Sammis Law Firm, my practice is focused exclusively on defending clients in criminal, DUI, and civil asset forfeiture cases including both CAFRA and non-CAFRA judicial claims. Over the last fifteen years, the firm has grown to six attorneys, four paralegals, and an intake coordinator. As a lifetime member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) and the affiliate organization in Hillsborough County, I enjoy networking with other attorneys fighting similar battles in the courtroom. I was recently selected as Florida’s State Delegate for the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD). On May 4, 2023, I presented the “Case Law Update: Knowledge is Power” at the “Masters of DUI 2023: Top Gun Teaching for Cutting-Edge Advocacy,” a comprehensive, cutting-edge look at the prosecution and defense of alcohol- and drug-related vehicular offenses sponsored by the Criminal Law Section of the Florida Bar. I am admitted to practice law in the State of Florida and Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and various U.S. District Courts throughout Florida and Georgia. I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma in 1996, and my J.D. at the University of Florida College of Law in 1999. I belong to the following professional associations: - Hillsborough County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (HCACDL) – Life Member - Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL) – Life Member - National College of DUI Defense (NCDD) – State Delegate and Member - DUI Defense Lawyers Association (DUIDLA) – Member - National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) – Member - NORML’s National Legal Committee (NLC) – Member
