Lisa obtained her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2001 and acquired an advanced certification in contracts and trusts law from Harvard University in 2020.

She is a lover of dogs, a supporter or Wisconsin and Arizona collegiate and professional sports and actively raises money to support the 100 Club of Minnesota and Arizona. The 100 Club is a charitable organization which provides financial assistance to families of first responders who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty and provide resources to enhance their safety and welfare.
