Personal Introduction
Michael Cukor is an Intellectual Property attorney who has been lead trial counsel in jury and bench trials around the country and before several appellate courts. Michael practiced at Akin Gump and Pillsbury Winthrop and other large firms before starting McGeary Cukor LLC 10 years ago. Michael has been litigating patent, trademark, trade dress and copyright matters for more than 25 years. Last year Michael was lead counsel for a plaintiff in a patent jury trial in NY that resulted in a finding of validity, infringement, willfulness and received an additional award of attorney fees. Michael also successfully argued an appeal before the Third Circuit on a trade dress issue. Michael maintains an active trademark prosecution practice and has been helping build brands throughout his career. The reason to use Michael for trademark prosecution is because his trademark strategy is informed by his litigation background allowing him to focus on the issues that will be most important if a trademark is ever asserted against a competitor or a client has to defend against a cease and desist assertion. McGeary Cukor also routinely assists as trial counsel when cases are coming close to trial and other firms require trial assistance. We are a firm with no associates. We decided to leave big firms not to recreate them, but to have a better life and more meaningful interactions with our clients. Michael personally handles every matter referred to him. When we have too much work, we do not hire, we stop accepting new matters. We work closely with all of our clients and we only work on IP matters.
