Personal Introduction

I am a native of Florida and Brevard County, and grew up in Melbourne Beach. For college, I went to Washington University in St. Louis, where I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in economics. Law school followed, at Washington University in St. Louis when I graduated in 1984. It has been my honor to represent many different lenders and bankers during my forty plus years of practice. I conducted loan closings for national banks, insurance companies, regional banks, local banks, credit unions, CDFIs, private and out-of-state lenders. Working with so many fine and caring bankers throughout my career, some in excess of thirty years, has been an amazing and meaningful experience. We closed, and continue to close loans for a myriad of borrowers, including: (a) manufacturing companies; (b) hotels; (c) gas stations; (d) mobile home parks; and, (e) strip centers. The types of loans include conventional loans for purchases and refinances, construction loans, owner financing, and SBA (7)(a) and 504 loans. In addition to commercial lending, I handle other types of real estate transactions including, 1031 exchanges, drafting sales contracts, leases, and easements, title insurance matters, residential closings, and assisting buyers with their due diligence. I handle commercial and residential real estate matters throughout Florida.

Personal Interests & Charitable Work

Supporting the community where I was raised and where I practice is of critical importance to me. In 1993, I became a charter member of the Rockledge Rotary Club, I was its third president, and remain a member. Also, I was a past president of the Central Brevard Sharing Center, Central Brevard Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Brevard County Legal Aid Society, and Crosswinds Youth Services (twice). I had the privilege of serving as legal counsel for the Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and also served on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Florida State College Foundation. When not working, I love to spend time with my wife, Cindy, and our dog, Morty, working out and going for long walks. Watching my favorite sports teams is most enjoyable, go Cardinals, Gators, Celtics and Jets! Reading is also a passion, and I am working on a book with the tentative title of "Real, Real Estate."
