Personal Introduction

I am an accomplished trial lawyer with over thirty years’ experience in the courtroom as both a lawyer and judge. My experience as Judge of a civil and criminal court, along with an appointment as a Family Law Master in Bexar County, have been an invaluable key to my success as an attorney. I focused my early practice on family law and criminal defense litigation. As my practice grew and developed, I used my courtroom skills to litigate real estate, probate, and title insurance matters. My experience in criminal law matters is extensive. I have also represented clients in hundreds of probate and family law matters including divorce, child custody, child support, and protective orders. Clients benefit from my ability to analyze the outcome of civil disputes, criminal cases, and family law matters from a judge’s perspective. I am dedicated to providing prompt and professional service to my clients’ most important needs in all areas of complex litigation. After leaving the bench, I continued my solo practice of law until 2010 when I became in-house litigation counsel for Fidelity National Title Group. Fidelity is a division of Fidelity National Financial, a Fortune 500 Company, and the largest title insurer in the United States. I successfully defended several jury trials with millions of dollars at stake, resulting in zero dollars of damage paid by my clients. I represent clients across the State of Texas and have enjoyed courtroom success in towns as small as Hondo and Bandera and as large as Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. I have used my intense training, experience, and knowledge of trial advocacy to help my clients with disputes involving their most important business and personal legal matters. I became a certified Mediator in April 2023 and will put my decades of experience to work helping other attorneys and their clients resolve complex litigation matters through alternative dispute resolution.
