Personal Introduction

I’m an immigration sole-practitioner and exclusively practice US immigration law. I have almost 30 years of immigration law experience and practice most branches of immigration law. I’m licensed in California, where I used to have my main office, but now I’m principally located in Miami, Fl. It could be stated that I am officially bi-coastal! The last few years of unprecedented restrictions on our freedom of movement, which I considered both constitutionally questionable and economically unsound did, however, demonstrate one valuable lesson to me: that having a physical office to go to everyday was not something I needed or wanted and I have slowly been encouraging video consultations with clients and feel that this not only is a good cost-savings on overhead, but allows you to be fresh appearing and ready to give clients good legal advice. No more 2 hour stressful crawls on the freeway to get back to the office after court. Taking liberties here: I speak several languages including Spanish, Assyrian, Farsi and Italian.

Personal Interests & Charitable Work

Minority rights globally and particularly those in the Middle East. Was engaged in Pro Bono cases with LACBA HIV immigration clinic, assisting very deserving and kind human beings trying to become permanent residents with an illness the US govt considered to be a bar to obtain permanent residence, absent waiver approval. The waiver process was tedious, invasive and, frankly, an insult to the values that we hold dear in this country. In the process, I was blessed to meet many wonderful and good people both on the LACBA side and the clients that I had the privilege to represent. Fortunately, the Obama administration took care of this by eliminating HIV + status as a bar to the Adjustment of Status to Permanent Residence. Needless to say, I am a huge lover of international travel, global politics and languages.
