Personal Introduction
Richard Hood is an associate in the firm’s Houston office. His practice includes all phases of contractual disputes. He has also defended companies against abusive pre-suit discovery tactics and successfully sought temporary restraining orders. Further, he has led matters to positive resolutions via pre-litigation negotiations. Prior to joining McDowell Hetherington, Richard was an associate at a law firm where his practice included criminal defense, military administrative matters, and general civil litigation. There, Richard developed his skills in oral and written advocacy through all stages of litigation. He also served as the criminal defense liaison to the Austin Young Lawyers Association. Before joining the legal profession, Richard served as an Army infantry officer for eight years. During his service, Richard deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Resolute Support and commanded a dismounted infantry reconnaissance company. Richard received his Bachelor of Science in 2011 from the United States Military Academy and earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
