Scott Hubay is the Managing Partner at Hubay Dougherty, bringing over 15 years of legal and hands-on experience to his practice. His practice areas include energy and environmental law, with a particular focus on clean energy development, as well as representation of nonprofit 501(c) and Section 527 organizations. Since founding Hubay Dougherty in 2016, Scott has represented a diverse range of clients, including clean energy engineers and developers, oil & gas lease parties, environmental and energy nonprofit advocacy organizations, state political parties, local, state and federal campaigns, and political action committees. Scott’s greatest strength lies in his ability to put himself in his clients’ shoes, understanding their unique needs and challenges. He leverages this understanding to connect his clients with resources and opportunities that are uniquely available through Hubay Dougherty’s extensive network. Scott is an active member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Energy Bar Association, and Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). He has also served on the boards of consumer utility advocacy organizations and arts nonprofits. Scott and his wife and son reside in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. When he’s not working, Scott enjoys exploring his neighborhood, spending time with his family, and staying engaged with his local community.
