Personal Interests & Charitable Work
I originally hail from Louisiana but grew up living around the world with my military family. After college at the University of Miami and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, I met my husband, a proud Navy man, before moving across the country to Virginia. We now live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia with our three boys. I firmly belive in giving back to my community, and I co-founded the influential nonprofit for military families, Blue Star Families. I'm also active in my local community, volunteering as president of my son's USA Swimming Club, serving in many board roles in local PTAs and band booster clubs, and as the former Contracts Chair for the Junior League of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. I am also a member of the Military Spouse JD Network and the Hampton Roads Estate Planning Council.
