Personal Introduction

Thomas Kuhlmeier is an associate attorney with Koch, Garg, Walker & Smart, representing clients in all areas of criminal defense and post-conviction relief. He is admitted to the practice of law in Connecticut and New York. Thomas has a B.A. in history and public policy from the University of California – Riverside. In his undergraduate studies, he focused on the intersection between global policies and local communities. He earned his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2023, graduating cum laude, with a concentration in Criminal Law & Advocacy. Thomas believes his role in defense work is to advocate for those whom our legal system would crush. He is dedicated to ensuring fairness for his clients. Prior to joining Koch, Garg, Walker & Smart, Thomas interned with the California Innocence Project, the Office of the Federal Defender for the District of Connecticut, the Civil Justice Clinic and the Defense Appellate Clinic at the Quinnipiac University School of Law where he represented indigent clients in criminal proceedings and habeas corpus matters, and assisted in immigration applications.
