Personal Introduction

As a trademark practitioner, Timur searches and analyzes proposed trademarks, obtain trademark registrations, manage worldwide and domestic trademark portfolios of clients in a wide variety of industries, including nutritional supplements, electronic components, software, engineering services, and music. His trademark cases include cancellations, oppositions, infringement, and dilution matters for famous marks. WIPO domain name arbitrations round out my practice. As a transactional advisor, he structures and negotiates a wide variety of technology transactions, including patent, trademark, and copyright licenses, software as a service and software development agreements, website hosting agreements, music distribution and other entertainment related agreements, sponsored research agreements, and materials transfer agreements. He is experienced in performing intellectual property audits and due diligence for high-tech and life sciences companies and investors, and for insurance underwriters of representations and warranties insurance. As a registered patent attorney, Timur drafts and prosecutes design and utility patents in software, database management, telephony, radiation scanning, magnetic resonance imaging, and mechanical arts. Inter partes reviews (IPRs) are also a part of my practice. As a litigator, he focuses on intellectual property matters at trial and appellate levels. He also advises on strategy for monetization of patent portfolios through licensing, sale, collaboration, or litigation. He has handled technologies ranging from excimer laser catheters to VoIP networking, and from customer relationship management software and data mining of patients’ health records to anti-cancer drugs. Timur has also handled general litigation matters, including breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract / license agreement, Communications Decency Act and DMCA immunity, and professional malpractice matters.
