Personal Introduction

Will assists clients in all aspects of civil litigation drawing upon his diverse experiences both as an advocate and a longtime Federal District Court law clerk in Washington State. Will began his legal career at the Seattle office of K&L Gates litigating patent and antitrust disputes. He then clerked for the Honorable Robert J. Bryan of the Western District of Washington, the longest serving trial judge in Washington State’s history, where he learned how to evaluate disputes through the perspective of a seasoned trial judge. Will was then hired by the Honorable Benjamin H. Settle of the Western District of Washington to serve as Judge Settle’s career law clerk. Over the course of ten-plus years of clerkships, Will managed hundreds of cases, assisted the judges with dozens of trials, and worked on numerous appeals at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals – covering a wide range of legal issues involving individual, corporate, and government parties and interests. Having returned to private practice with Bailey Duquette P.C., Will brings an in-depth understanding of substantive law and procedure. Will offers invaluable “behind-the-scenes” perspectives to each engagement, both plaintiff - and defense - side, be it pre-litigation, trial, or appeal. Will's litigation matters have covered a wide range of commercial and employment topics including: 1) contract disputes; 2) trademark and unfair competition disputes under the Lanham Act and similar state laws; 3) defamation and business disparagement disputes, and 4) professional malpractice claims.
