Yunuen Mora, Esq.
Immigration (Transactional)
San Diego, California
Personal Introduction
I was born in León, Guanajuato, México and I immigrated to the United States at the age of 13. I lived in Chula Vista, California. In school, I was placed in an English immersion program that allowed me to learn English. I graduated from high school and attended the University of California at Berkeley with a full scholarship from the Gates Millennium foundation. While at Berkeley, I was co-chair of M.E.Ch.A. where I organized different events to promote higher education for Latino students. I also helped out agricultural workers in Salinas to know their rights in their Spanish language. Once I returned to San Diego, I worked in different law offices as an assistant and I realized there was a great need for Spanish-speaking attorneys. I decided to go to law school to represent Spanish-speaking individuals who need legal help. In law school I volunteered in non-profits such as Employee Rights Center and Casa Cornelia while I served in the board of La Raza student law association. In law school and in my volunteer internships, I discovered that I wanted to help immigrants like myself.
