FAQ
What kinds of referral networks are on the platform?
Law school alumni groups, bar associations, and affinity groups are the main types of networks on the platform.
As long as the group has a shared purpose or shared common experience, we can build a network for your members on the platform. This ensures that referrals are only shared with attorneys that we share common core values with.
How much does it cost to create an account?
Nothing. There’s no fee to create an account.
The platform fee splits only kick in when you successfully refer or take on a client from another attorney. That way, all of our incentives are aligned to focus on finding our clients a great home and growing our collective practices.
Are accounts linked to attorneys or a law firm?
Every attorney has to make his or her own account. We don’t allow accounts for law firms.
What are the platform fee splits?
To simplify the process, every referral through the platform has the same fee split percentages.
Hourly / Flat Fee Matters
15% for the Referring Attorney
20% for Overture Law PC
65% for the Handling Attorney
Contingency Matters
30% for the Referring Attorney
5% for Overture Law PC
65% for the Handling Attorney
This way, the focus is on finding the right attorney to assist your client, rather than spending time negotiating fee splits.
How long does it take to create an account?
It takes just a minute to create your account, and only a few more to update your profile. Once you add the networks you belong to, you can start taking on referrals today.
By joining Overture, do I work for Overture instead of my own firm?
No. Overture is simply a tool for independent attorneys to share referrals with one another.
