Personal Introduction

As an experienced corporate, legal and regulatory compliance expert with a background as Vice President and General Counsel, I bring a unique blend of expertise to advising on various areas of business needs. While working in the healthcare benefits industry, I developed experience advising on and collaborating with marketing, performing high level tracking of data and processes, providing solutions to administration and claims payment issues, including appeals, and ensuring legal compliance while driving business success. My extensive experience in analyzing benefits legislation, regulations, guidance, and practices and developing materials and presentations to update staff internally and provide guidance to clients and partners on these; providing strategic advice on complex issues; and conducting risk assessments has enabled me to successfully transfer my skills to assist clients in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and mitigating risks effectively. I also advise companies, brokers, executives and staff on a wide variety of employee benefit matters, including plan design, analysis, cost evaluation utilization trends and compliance risk assessments. I actively advise on benefit implementations, vendor relationships and process improvements, as well as enhancing employee satisfaction. My contract drafting, review and negotiation skills have been honed through years of securing favorable contracts with other parties and types of agreements, including corporate, sales, industry and technology/data. My experience in identifying and resolving potential legal issues prior to litigation and knowledge acquired through coordinating litigation with Outside Legal Counsel has allowed me to successfully advise clients on potential litigation issues, including Arbitration and Mediation.
