Personal Introduction

Attorney Brodeur is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and Quinnipiac University School of Law. She represents clients in all Connecticut Courts and has provided guidance to clients on a wide-range of issues including criminal, appellate, habeas, real estate, wills and trusts, business organizations, contracts, torts (including personal injury), and equine law. In Attorney Brodeur’s criminal law and post-conviction practice she represents individuals charged with traffic offenses, DUI, misdemeanors, and felonies. She also represents clients in post-conviction proceedings including appeals, state and federal habeas corpus actions, and other post-conviction proceedings. She has appeared regularly in court and litigated cases before the Connecticut Supreme, Appellate, and Superior Courts, including the habeas court. Attorney Brodeur is sensitive to the fact-intensive nature of criminal defense and listens carefully to clients to identify their concerns as well as possible defenses. She is experienced in representing individuals with disabilities and deficiencies. Her patient nature, careful attention to detail, and persistence lends itself to criminal and post-conviction work. As an appellate attorney, she has litigated cases of first impression, has argued numerous appeals in the Connecticut Appellate Court, and succeeded in persuading the Connecticut Supreme Court to accept multiple cases raising issues ranging from conflict of interest to denial of self-representation. She has had multiple successes for her clients, including overturning convictions for class A felonies, negotiation of resolutions to complex criminal cases, and achieving sentence reductions for her clients. She has aided and mentored other attorneys, providing strategy and materials resulting in successful resolutions of additional cases. As one of the few equine law practitioners in Connecticut and Rhode Island she has assisted clients in forming and protecting equine-related businesses. She has handled complex equine law cases including a wide array of issues such as international sales, importation, CUTPA, personal injury, complex litigation, business torts, business organizations and contracts. While in law school she received numerous honors and awards for her outstanding work, including the Excellence in Clinical Work award for her efforts in the Defense Appellate Clinic on a case involving instructional error and juror unanimity. Also while in law school, she gained experience with a prominent personal injury firm in the New London area, volunteered with the Office of the Public Defender in New London, and appeared in court. Attorney Brodeur attended both Carnegie Mellon and Quinnipiac University School of Law as an academic scholar, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. She completed her undergraduate degree early before attending Quinnipiac Law School. Attorney Brodeur is admitted to practice law in all courts in Connecticut and Rhode Island, as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut
