arissa Haning is the owner of Haning Law Office. An experienced attorney dedicated to helping individuals and families make the very best legal decisions, Carissa has been practicing law since 2003. Her practice focuses on estate planning and probate. Carissa strives to develop a lifelong relationship with her clients, serving as a trusted advisor to them and to their families. Carissa expertly guides her clients as they preserve and protect their assets, loved ones and legacies, including their intellectual, spiritual, and human assets. Prior to opening Haning Law Office, Carissa worked for Danz Law Offices; Londrigan, Potter and Randle, P.C.; and Leighton Legal Group. Carissa is a graduate of Monmouth College and Southern Illinois University School of Law. Carissa and her husband, Aaron, live in Bloomington, Illinois with their three children. Having planned for and protected her own family with a comprehensive estate plan, Carissa offers helpful insight to parents seeking to do the same. It is truly an honor and a joy to be an estate planning attorney in the Bloomington/Normal area! In January of 2021, I decided to pursue my dream of having a small law firm that focuses entirely on estate planning. I have witnessed firsthand how bad planning (or no planning) can tear apart families and destroy family businesses. My goal is simple — prevent issues and litigation with good planning. Good planning begins with taking the time to get to know each and every client in order to get a comprehensive understanding of not just their assets, but also their family life, their retirement goals, their financial values, their wishes for their children and future generations, and the personal insights and perspectives that they want reflected in their legacy. Each client undergoes the same interview process so that we have all of the information we need to help design and implement the best plan possible. Because of this unique process, our clients stay with us for their lifetimes and our representation extends to their children and grandchildren. My firm is a family friendly firm. I am a mother of three children, and I recognize that parents have limited time and resources. Because I believe planning for families with minor children is the most important estate planning, I have made our estate plans accessible and affordable for all families so that cost is not a factor.
