Fatima Khan

Personal Introduction

Fatima is a seasoned executive and leading advisor for global technology companies. Fatima’s practice focuses on advising clients on legal matters and regulation across technology, product development, privacy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, intellectual property, government affairs and public policy, commercial agreements, regulatory inquiries, buy side and sell side M&A, as well as helping organizations build out privacy strategy, training, audits, data governance, operations, and program management. Prior to joining SSM, Fatima held leadership positions at Okta, Demandbase, and Airpush advising on legal matters. At these companies and others, she has built out privacy programs from scratch, negotiated hundreds of agreements, and led both lawyers and operational teams to manage privacy, artificial intelligence, export control, commercial, and product legal matters across the company. Earlier in her career, Fatima was legal counsel at Velti, where she was co-lead counsel for advertising and worked on global transactions across the APAC and Latin America regions. She was also a member of the founding team at Ticketul as well as an early employee of the legal tech startup, ZipCourt. A native Texan, Fatima has adopted Los Angeles as her new community. In her spare time, she is a photographer and artist focusing on social-commentary based privacy art. Fatima is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Portuguese and Urdu.
