Mr. Herrick has over fifteen years of corporate law experience serving as in-house and outside counsel to startup, growing and leading technology companies. His experience spans the tech industry and IP law spectrum, including: Providing ongoing legal counsel to a global information technology and communications systems company. Representing a global automotive and software company in connection with a number of large-scale software development projects. Representing a research and development company in negotiations over cross-border collaborative research and licensing agreements with various world-renowned universities. Representing a nationwide managed review and legal staffing company in connection with the sale of its intellectual property and other assets to a global acquirer. Providing legal counsel to an in-space manufacturing and space resource extraction technology company co-founded by prominent NASA, MIT and University of Houston scientists. Representing a medical device company in joint-venture negotiations with major multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Representing a medical device company in front of the USPTO to secure the company’s patent protection. Providing ongoing legal counsel to an online social media company. Mr. Herrick has also represented multiple software development companies and software developers. In addition, while working as an associate at a large New York City firm, Mr. Herrick provided legal representation to a group of private equity funds in their “credit bid” acquisition of a popular fine china maker, and a major hedge fund during the fund’s liquidation and transfer of $2 billion in assets to a private equity fund. Mr. Herrick has almost five years of computer programming experience and in-depth knowledge of online security. Recently, he prepared expert testimony used in an international arbitration proceeding involving contractual breaches and intentional misconduct by a software developer and system administration that resulted in a significant arbitration award.
