Personal Introduction

Attorney Jacinta Hall started her legal career over 17 years ago clerking for the then Chief Judge of the Mississippi Court of Appeals (current Mississippi Supreme Court Justice) Leslie D. King. Her career continued as an Assistant Public Defender in Hinds County, Jackson, Mississippi. Developing a reputation as a passionate advocate in court, Jacinta fought for fair and just outcomes for her clients. Jacinta transitioned from Hinds County to the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender in Memphis, TN, making sure to bring along her fierce advocacy. Working at both 201 and juvenile court, Jacinta quickly became known for her tireless work ethic and favorable results for her clients. Jacinta’s last employ was as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Southern District of Mississippi, where her passionate advocacy resulted in several dismissals and reduced sentences. Outside of the courtroom, Jacinta trains new and future lawyers, while also inspiring seasoned ones. Jacinta has presented at Yale Law School, the University of Chicago Law School, and at CLE’s across the country. Jacinta is an adjunct professor at the University of Mississippi School of Law and is Alumni Faculty with Gideon’s Promise, a public defender training organization. Jacinta has been given numerous accolades and awards, including being named a 2019 Leader in Law by the Mississippi Business Journal.
