Personal Introduction

Matthew first moved to Frederick as a teen and attended TJ High before graduating early to enlist in the U.S. Army. Shortly after Matthew joined the Army, the nation was stunned by the events of 9/11. Matthew continued serving for a total of thirteen years. He deployed multiple times in the Global War on Terror, serving around the world in Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan as an Infantryman and Intelligence Collector. After coming home from his last tour in Afghanistan, Matthew transitioned to the Reserves and civilian life. Matthew served as Platoon Sergeant for a Human Intelligence Collection Platoon with the Army Reserves while completing his undergraduate education, and later while working as an intel analyst with the FBI’s Counter-Terrorism Division. It was also during this period that he met his significant other, Dr. Amanda L. Bailey, who was then completing her Ph.D. at their shared alma mater. It was Amanda who motivated him to take the next step in his education and attend law school (or as he likes to put it, his extended vacation in the land of academia). Prior to starting his practice here in Frederick, he was Corporate Counsel for a government contracting company. However, in 2018 he returned home to Frederick, to found Condliffe Law, with the express intent of serving his community and helping his neighbors with their business needs and estate planning and probate matters.
