Personal Introduction
Mike Usher, Esq. is a graduate of Brooklyn College (CUNY) where he received a Bachelor's in Political Science. After graduating college, Mike worked as the head of purchasing for an international furniture import and distribution company. Mike went on to go to Saint Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida. During Law School Mike was a Senator for the Student Bar Association, as well as a competing member for the National Champion St. Thomas University Mock Trial Team where he earned high honors. While in law school, he was also a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Amy Steele Donner in Dade County, Florida. After taking the New York and New Jersey Bar Examination, Mike began working for Smotritsky Law Group PLLC. in Brooklyn, New York where he focused primarily on Immigration Law, Criminal Law, Employment Law and Consumer Protection Law. During his tenure at Smotritsky Law Group, Mr. Usher developed the Criminal Division of the firm. He also took and passed the Florida Bar Examination. After three years at Smotritsky Law Group, Mike decided to start his own law firm. Since inception, Usher Law Group P.C. has been handling cases ranging from deportation defense, criminal defense, foreclosure, child custody, divorce matters, consumer protection, business compliance, employment law, landlord tenant law and real estate matters. He is a member of American Immigration Lawyers Associations, American Bar Association, New York County Lawyers Association, New York State Bar Association, and New Jersey State Bar Association. Mr. Usher is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Florida State, Mr. Usher is also admitted in various Fedeal Courts including the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of New York, The Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York, Federal District Court of New Jersey, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals as well as The U.S. Department of Justice Executive Office of Immigration Review (Immigration Court).
