I am a Rhodes Scholar and graduate of Cornell, Yale Law School, Oxford and the University of San Diego School of Business. I am a very experienced life sciences lawyer with both large law firm and in-house experience. I am also a former Adjunct Professor of Law at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and the University of San Diego School of Law. In addition, I have taught as a Lecturer at the Rady School of Business at the University of California, San Diego and at the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences at the Claremont Colleges. I am also available for mediation of commercial disputes and for pre-litigation employment, commercial agreement and trade secret litigation among others.

I am a 30 year corporate lawyer with 10 years in big law in New York City (Cravath) and in San Diego (Cooley) and 20 years as the general counsel to three public life science companies and one group of Chinese and US life science companies. I have a lot of experience with corporate, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, securities, employment, commercial and sales agreements, intellectual property licenses, trademarks, healthcare, real estate and related legal areas. I also do pre-litigation disputes and can also do mediation if required. In addition, I have advised public, private and non-profit boards of directors. I also have represented certain companies in the healthcare, clean energy space and in the tech and software spaces. I worked on large securities matters for Cravath in New York and for Cooley and Heller Ehrman in San Diego. I was the general counsel for Nanogen, Inc. (Nasdaq), Apricus Bio (Nasdaq), Innovus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq BB) and for the ACON group of Chinese and US life science companies. I am also the outside general counsel to Clean Water Ventures, Inc., a clean water and hydrogen producing company.

I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, ride bikes, life weights and do yoga. I do political charitable work and also am on the board of a Stuttering Clinic. Married with two adult children. 1 dog and 1 cat.
