Personal Introduction

Ms. Kumar, a former Partner at a Downtown Los Angeles law firm, is a skilled lawyer with over 20 years of experience. She practices extensively in the areas of employment law, business litigation, and contract disputes and negotiations. She has successfully tried cases in both federal and state court and has obtained numerous verdicts, judgments by way of motion practice, dismissals, and settlements on behalf of her clients. Ms. Kumar has devoted part of her practice to the estate planning needs of her clients, understanding the importance of planning for the future. She is mindful of her clients' needs; meeting and exceeding their expectations. Ms. Kumar received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Organization from the University of Southern California in 1999 where she earned the prestigious distinction of Trustee Scholar and was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, a certified national honor society. While at the University of Southern California, Ms. Kumar co-founded the Business Scholar Society where she served as Vice-President. Ms. Kumar received her law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2002. While at Loyola Law School, Ms. Kumar served as the Senior Note and Comment Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review and was actively involved with the American Bar Association, Law Student Division as a representative for Loyola Law School on a national level. Ms. Kumar has been featured as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2009, 2010, and 2011. In June 2019, Angeleno Magazine featured Ms. Kumar as one of its Power Players, an elite group of individuals in their respective industries. In September 2021, Ms. Kumar became a Trustee for the South Asian Bar Association of North America Foundation, a charitable organization supporting access to justice, legal education, research, and public interest employment in the South Asian community across the United States and Canada. She currently serves as Secretary for the Foundation. Ms. Kumar is a member of the State Bar of California, United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. A representative sample of clients she has represented include international manufacturing companies, chemical companies, school districts, government entities, grocery stores, company owned and franchised restaurants, small businesses, private schools, law firms, and insurance companies. In the past, Ms. Kumar has served on the Board of Directors for the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California as the Law Student Outreach Chair. She is currently a member of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce.
