Personal Introduction

As a Personal Family Lawyer, I serve as an ongoing advisor to the families I represent, guiding them through estate planning, probate, and trust administration as their lives and circumstances evolve, rather than acting as a one time document drafter. My practice emphasizes clear communication, careful implementation, and trust funding, including asset titling and recording deeds to trust, with plans reviewed at least every three years to ensure they remain current and effective.

Practice Summary

My practice concentrates on estate planning, probate, and trust administration. I advise clients on the design and implementation of revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives, including trust funding through proper asset titling and the preparation and recording of deeds transferring real property to trusts. I regularly structure plans to address probate avoidance, asset protection, tax efficiency, and multigenerational wealth transfer. I represent fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust and estate administration matters, including probate proceedings, post-death trust administration, and compliance with fiduciary duties. My work includes managing administration timelines and coordinating post-death transfers to ensure plans function as intended under Virginia law. I also advise families and closely held business owners on succession planning and ongoing trust maintenance, with an emphasis on precise drafting, proper implementation, and practical administration.

Personal Interests & Charitable Work

Outside of my legal practice, family life shapes much of how I spend my time. As a parent, I am involved with my local PTA, support high school theater programs, and offer educational estate planning workshops to help families plan ahead with confidence and clarity. In my free time, you will usually find me outdoors hiking, foraging, camping, or heading out on a motorcycle adventure. I also volunteer with Next Turn Events to help support and grow the tabletop gaming community through mentorship and shared interests. Like many Northern Virginia families, soccer is a big part of our lives through my child, whose competitive travel soccer has taken us all over the region and beyond!
