Personal Introduction

I have been practicing in the estate and health care planning/probate and trust administration areas for over 44 years and, as a result, I'm well versed in many of the issues that make work in these arenas so interesting. Through the years I've handled and been involved in litigation matters (Will/Trust Contests, and the like) which generally are complex and very exciting matters. More than willing to discuss strategy and approaches relative to potential litigation cases.

Practice Summary

The key areas of my practice are estate and health care planning. My goal for my clients is to devise an estate and health care plan that keeps my clients and their estates out of Court going forward. I work in the administration of estates upon death and the ultimate transfer of wealth to the next generation. As a rule this area of practice in the law is not glamorous or newsworthy. However, I was lead counsel years ago on a case, unfortunately it was a small estate, that successfully had an undated suicide note by the decedent admitted to probate as his Will. At that time handwritten Wills needed to be dated but I was able to persuade the Court to take judicial notice of circumstantial evidence and thereby ascribe a date to the undated "Will". I was proud of that accomplishment even though few people knew about it.

Personal Interests & Charitable Work

My personal interests are my family, my friends and my church. I made a decision many years ago to be as attentive as I possibly can to those people I know who are in the final stages of life. I'm pretty sure my interest in comforting those people is what directed me into the estate and health care planning space.
