Personal Introduction
I’m Therese Gutierrez, a probate and estate planning attorney at WG Law with a focus on international estate planning matters. Over the past six-plus years, I’ve built a practice grounded in estate planning and probate—helping families put clear plans in place during life and guiding them through the court process after a loss. My career path has taken me from in-house counsel to government practice and now into private practice, and that range of experience strengthens my approach to drafting, compliance, and problem-solving when the stakes are high. I also bring a strong background in contract drafting and dispute resolution, including arbitration. I earned my Juris Doctor from San Beda College Alabang and my Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Texas A&M University School of Law.

Practice Summary
My practice focuses on Texas probate and estate planning, with particular experience handling matters in Collin, Denton, Dallas, Tarrant, Harris, Bexar, Grayson, and the nearby Counties. I advise clients on building clear, practical estate plans—wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives—tailored to protect spouses, children, and blended families, and to reduce the risk of disputes. I also guide families through probate and estate administration, including independent and dependent administrations, heirship proceedings, muniments of title, and small-estate procedures, with an emphasis on efficient resolutions and clean title outcomes. In addition, I handle international and cross-border estate planning and probate issues, including coordinating with counsel and institutions when assets, beneficiaries, or family members are located outside the United States. My background in legal compliance, contract drafting, and dispute resolution supports my work in high-stakes administrations, contested matters, and situations where documentation, timelines, and risk management are critical.
