Personal Introduction

Bijan Mohseni is the founder of Mohseni Law Group, P.C., a California employment law firm representing workers in wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, PAGA, and class action cases. A seasoned employment and civil rights attorney, Bijan has recovered over $40 million for employees statewide. Known for his fearless advocacy and strategic litigation approach, Bijan routinely takes on some of California’s largest employers and multinational corporations. He’s built a reputation as a trusted California employee rights lawyer, holding powerful entities accountable and achieving life-changing results. Early in his career, he challenged the Department of Defense’s discriminatory policies against transgender service members before the U.S. Supreme Court, taking on the President of the United States in the process. Beyond litigation, Bijan is deeply committed to labor rights and workplace justice. He has served as an elected Delegate to the California Democratic Party, shaping statewide policy on labor and economic justice, and previously ran for the California State Assembly. He currently serves on the Board of the Orange County Lavender Bar Association and remains active in community and political organizing across California. His advocacy has earned him multiple honors, including the Equality California Community Leadership Award, the President’s Gold Volunteer Service Award presented by President Barack Obama, and the Guardians of Justice Pro Bono Award. Before founding Mohseni Law Group, Bijan served as a managing attorney at a leading plaintiff-side employment law firm and trained at Latham & Watkins and Lewis Brisbois, two of the nation’s largest defense firms. He also externed for the Honorable Josephine L. Staton of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Brian M. Hoffstadt of the California Court of Appeal. Bijan is a contributing author for LexisNexis Practical Guidance, providing expertise to employment lawyers nationwide. A proud first-generation American, Bijan earned his B.A. in Political Science from Chapman University, studied Politics, Philosophy, & Economics at the University of Oxford, and received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law.
