Personal Introduction
Grant works with early-stage companies to address their corporate and securities needs. Grant specializes in venture financings, fund formation, and general counsel services. I understand life as an entrepreneur because I’ve been running my own side hustles for as long as I can remember. From opening a lemonade stand and writing a neighborhood newsletter as a kid to some more recent ecommerce ventures like selling apparel, designing custom sportswear, and producing wooden prescription eyewear, I’ve always had an itch for entrepreneurship. As it turns out, though, I’m much better at helping other entrepreneurs on their journeys than I ever was at running my own businesses. My work at ELS is tailored to the life cycle of startups and growth companies. In practice, that means I spend most of my time on venture capital financings (some company-side and some investor-side) and M&A transactions while helping clients with other issues along the way—formations, commercial contracts, and trademarks. I also represent several socially-minded entrepreneurs in relation to public benefit corporation formation and compliance. Before joining Enterprise Legal Studio, I spent several years handling real estate and general corporate matters at Cline Williams, a premier Nebraska firm. I have been an adjunct instructor of business law at multiple universities and continue to connect with entrepreneurs by presenting on legal topics at entrepreneur-focused events.

Personal Interests & Charitable Work
Outside of the office, you can find me coaching ultimate frisbee for the local college team or playing club or professional ultimate frisbee on the weekends. I’m also known in some circles as someone who likes to live on the edge—I spent one winter living in Park City training in the Olympic sport of skeleton and have traveled to North Korea.
