Personal Introduction

For over two decades, Mr. McCausland has represented the interests of the nation's most successful commercial landlords and retail developers. Having managed thousands of commercial landlord related disputes throughout Florida and Texas, Mr. McCausland specializes in resolving tenant and third-party issues for landlords at every opportunity: from pre-litigation negotiation, through trial and appeal. Mr. McCausland has been a member in good standing with the Florida and Texas bars since 1998 and 2009, respectively. While in law school, Mr. McCausland served as a law clerk for the United States Attorney's Office. As a young lawyer, he developed his reputation for diligence and cost-effective advocacy while engaged as Counsel for large insurers, major utilities, financial companies, and other institutional clients. In 2004, Mr. McCausland began limiting his practice almost exclusively to defending the interests of commercial/retail landlords.

Practice Summary

We are the go-to legal resource for successful retail landlords. Our practice focuses on resolving commercial landlord/tenant disputes, including evictions, collections, and lease related matters. With the experience of having already handled more than two thousand landlord/tenant cases, we work closely with our Clients to tailor and execute plans to achieve optimum results at the lowest possible expense. Our Clients choose McKenna, McCausland & Murphy P.A. because we promptly identify pertinent legal issues, timely counsel with our Clients, collaborate with opposing parties and counsel to resolve matters, and (where necessary) zealously advocate within a cost-effective litigation plan. When our Clients’ legal disputes cannot be resolved without the actual need for trial, our lawyers are experienced in the preparation of legal argument and evidence necessary to successfully present the case to judge and jury.
