Personal Introduction

Syeda Nazifa Nawroj, Esq. is an experienced corporate lawyer based in Silicon Valley. She specializes in advising founders, investors, and businesses on corporate governance and transactions, like formation, equity financings, commercial deals, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Over nearly a decade, Syeda has represented small to mid-sized private companies at all stages of their formation, growth, and market exit. At the time Syeda started her own practice, she had closed over 35 M&A deals with a total transaction value nearing $3 billion. Her expertise continues to grow. Syeda is an immigrant to the United States from Dhaka, Bangladesh. She was awarded a full scholarship to Mount Holyoke College and came to the US for higher education. After college, she self-funded her Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law with private loans. While at law school, Syeda served on the NYU Law Review. After law school, Syeda began her corporate law career at DLA Piper LLP (US), a global legal powerhouse, and later honed her expertise in M&A at Fenwick & West LLP, a top-tier technology law firm. At Fenwick, Syeda focused on representing founders of technology and life sciences companies in their strategic acquisitions during a high tide in private company M&A and grew to love the work. Syeda’s best-in-class legal training at DLA and Fenwick serves as a strong foundation and equips her to expertly support founders and businesses in her own law practice today. At her law firm Empowering Legal Solutions (ELS), Syeda strives to make high-impact corporate legal advice and services more accessible through an innovative combination of smart use of technology, bespoke staffing, and flexible pricing. Syeda is passionate about empowering start-up founders, especially those from traditionally under-represented and under-served backgrounds. In that vein, she authored the book "Sell Your Start-Up: A Founder's Guide to Navigate and Win at M&A," to help founders understand the M&A journey and lead with confidence on their first market exit. The book is available on Amazon marketplace.
